MEET juliette.

"I try to leave my clients better than I found them.  Collaborative lawyering allows me the opportunity to resolve disputes through problem solving rather than adversarial litigation. Through the collaborative process I can help the family navigate to a solution that includes an outcome that is more respectful, creative and effective for everyone involved.  "

Juliette wanted to be a lawyer since she was a child so that she could be a child advocate.  She began her legal career in her twenties representing people with disabilities and, through class action litigation, she successfully shut down every institution in Florida that housed people with developmental disabilities.  Her class action work, which at the time, resulted in the largest class action settlement for people with disabilities in Florida’s history, served as the foundation for a new service delivery system that was more humane. After her success as a child advocate, Juliette turned to private practice but continued her child advocacy through her work with charitable organizations.   Juliette comes from a long line of philanthropy.  As a young child, her grandmother and mother brought her into the world of charity where they helped create shelters for women and children. Her work on behalf of children continues today as she is the Chairwoman of the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

While Juliette’s work with charitable organizations is a full-time commitment, her private practice never suffers.  Juliette is a founding member of the law firm of Birnbaum, Lippman & Gregoire, PLLC, which  has been named by U.S. News and World Report as a Best Law Firm every year since 2013.  Juliette’s strong litigation skills have led to her being recognized seven times by Florida’s Super Lawyers as a Top 50 Woman Lawyer and five times as a Top 100 Lawyer.  After years of litigating, she was recognized in 2019 as Family Lawyer of the Year.  Juliette has also developed a mediation practice.  She was recognized by Legal Elite as Mediator of the Year in 2020.  Innovative problem solving is something Juliette excels at and loves to do.  Her ability to lead and build consensus was most recently seen when she served as President of the Florida Bar Foundation.  As a strong family law litigator, Juliette identifies those cases that are best suited for collaborative law.  The collaborative process allows for a team of professionals and specialists working together to negotiate a mutually acceptable settlement without having courts decide the final resolution.

Juliette has been published frequently, her writings include Florida Dissolution of Marriage “Mediation” 11-16th editions published by the Florida Bar Association and distributed by Lexis/Nexis.  She has received many accolades including the Florida Bar Association Family Law Chair’s Special Award of Merit as recognition for outstanding service, dedication and loyalty to the Family Law Section and the Broward Bar Association Joseph J. Carter Professionalism Award for exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism in terms of respect for the law and preservation of decorum and integrity in the legal system.

Juliette loves to travel.  She is the first one on her mother’s side of the family born outside of Hungary and was born in Mexico.  As a child she spent every summer in Europe and every winter in Mexico.  While her dedication to her practice keeps her in South Florida much of the time, she continues her travels as frequently as she can in her spare time.
