MEET katherine.
"What sold me on collaborative law is not the process but the result. Litigation leaves parties scarred and angry. Collaborative Law gives clients the best opportunity to leave a marriage on speaking terms."
Katherine is almost a Florida native as she has lived in Fort Lauderdale since she was 9 years old when her father accepted a job as the senior pastor at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wilton Manors, Florida. She is a Fort Lauderdale Highschool “Flying L” and graduated Florida Atlantic University With Distinction and University of Florida Law School With High Honors.
She began her career as a lawyer at larger law firms before she formed her current boutique law firm with law partners, Juliette Lippman and Nancy Gregoire. Katherine has been involved in almost all aspects of family litigation, from guardian ad litem, mediator, and lawyer to special magistrate and private judge, and she will be adding parenting coordination to her repertoire of skills this summer. As a lawyer she has handled a wide range of divorce cases from high net worth divorce cases to high-conflict child custody cases.
Katherine is one of only 30 family lawyers in Broward County who has received the designation of Board Certification in Marital and Family Law as of 2021 which requires trial experience in family law matters every five years as well as additional legal education requirements. After many years of practicing family law in the traditional way, she became trained in Collaborative Law in 2019. While she always prided herself on practicing traditional family law collaboratively, she now appreciates the true advantages that Collaborative Law offers to divorcing families.
Katherine enjoys writing and has been published numerous times. She also recently taught family law at St. Thomas University School of Law as an adjunct professor. She manages her current law firm and enjoys pilates in her free time.
